Why Am I Not Losing Weight?
Let me guess..You workout, eat healthy, drink a lot of water and do everything that you’re “supposed” to do, but you’re still not losing any weight? In fact you’re actually gaining weight, constantly feeling bloated on top of not feeling happy with yourself. We have all been there, you’re not alone! If this is what you’re going through right now, I promise it gets better. We don’t believe in a scale and we would never base our life off of a little number. Throw the scales away ladies!! We just want you to feel your best all of the time! Here are some things that you should try to do that will actually help you lose the weight you want gone.
You’re not eating enough
This might come as a shock to some people but YES not eating enough nutrients can cause weight gain and bloating. When you don’t eat the amount your body requires it can really mess up your digestive system. Not eating enough can be just as bad as eating too much.
Cortisol levels are too high
You’re stressed out. This can be from working out too hard, eating too little or even working too much! You’re body is in fight or flight mode - meaning that it is holding onto everything possible because you’re over working it. To fix this situation, take a few days off working out to let your body rest and recover. Rest days are just as important as workout days! - up your calorie intake a bit with healthy nutrient dense foods, try eating at similar times each day as well! This can jump start your metabolism and lower cortisol levels! Also attached is a cortisol vitamin to help balance levels!
You eat excessively
We don’t believe in any crazy diets or counting every calorie that goes into our bodies. That’s no way to live life!! We just want you to be healthy, and eat a healthy amount of food. You need to stop over eating and only eat when you’re hungry. When you’re full put the plate away! A little tip to help get control of this.. is whenever you’re eating out and you feel full but there is still food left on your plate and you feel the need to eat it…ask the waiter to pick it up so its out of sight and out of mind.
You’re skipping meals
There is no reason to skip any meals..unless you’re just not hungry at all. We believe in eating 3 meals a day even if they are smaller portions. Food is fuel for your body, how are you going to have any strength to get through your day if you skip breakfast or lunch?
You do the same workouts everyday
Your body gets used to doing likewise developments over and over again and its vital to test it. You have to change it up! We like to do all kinds of different workouts. Here are a few: boxing/jumprope/walks/runs/pilates/weights. Plus isn’t it kind of boring to do the same workouts everyday?
Portion control
You’re eating more than you know! Too much processed junk filled with oils and preservatives that is causing you to hold onto weight! Things such as nuts (even though very healthy) can quickly add up in calories!
Not enough sleep
Lack of sleep is another factor into the stress hormone which signals your body to hold onto energy! Have you ever realized when your body is drained you tend to eat more or not care what you’re eating? Your body needs proper rest to function everyday and once you start prioritizing rest your body will thank you.
IT’S THE LITTLE THINGS LIKE…
Eating super late at night. We like to stop eating at least 2 hours before we go to sleep if we can.
Eating protein (oatmeal, nuts, protein smoothie) before a workout and healthy sugars after (fruit, veggies, juice)
Stop drinking your calories - cut the sodas!
Being nice to yourself…staying in a positive mindset.
Don’t skip out on your vitamins.
